Sean Bradley is a saxophonist from Mt. Pleasant, Michigan and recently completed Masterโ€™s Degrees in Music Education and Saxophone Performance at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music (2020). He is passionate about peer mentorship and teaching students with disabilities. His Masterโ€™s thesis is titled: โ€œPeer Mentoring Students with Disabilities in a High School Orchestra Program.โ€ He completed his Bachelorโ€™s in Music Education Degree at Central Michigan University (CMU) in May 2017. His primary teachers have included Otis Murphy, John Nichol, Jonathan Nichol, and Robbie Smith.

 

Seanโ€™s notable solo distinctions include receiving an Outstanding Musician Award at the Elmhurst College Jazz Festival (2016 & 2014), Honorable Mention in the Patricia Nixon Woodwind Memorial Scholarship Competition at CMU (2015), Second place at the White Lake soloist competition (2015 & 2014), Honorable Mention at the Michigan MTNA Competition (2014), and Third Place in the North American Saxophone Alliance Young Artist Competition (2012).  

 

Sean currently serves as the Band Teacher at the Indiana School for the Blind and Visually Impaired in Indianapolis. He teaches both band and piano classes at the school. His academic research focus is on peer mentorship in public school music teaching, and he also has a strong passion for music education and arts advocacy. He is also an avid performer and is the tenor saxophonist in the award-winning Soma Quartet.
